In recent years, 6th District’s local authorities have provided, and still are, food for a whole school year for more than 4.000 students, on a daily basis, through the “School after School” program and its Day Care programs.

At the same time, 6th District’s General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection considers that for a harmonious development, children need continuity in these approaches. Food should not be missed on weekends or on school holidays.

Thus, the Local Food Bank ensures that children will have a proper diet on a daily basis, while they are not attending social centers of programs in the community.
Within the 6th District we have over 11 years of experience in running programs such as canteens and after schools for the neighbourhood.
